In its sixth year, DHL are calling entrants for their 2015 Express Fashion Export Scholarship that aims to give up-and-coming Australian fashion designers the opportunity to grow their business internationally.

The DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship offers emerging Australian designers and labels the opportunity to chase their dreams of international success. The winner receives $10,000 worth of international freight and DHL Express mentorship to prepare their export strategy, as well as the opportunity to fly to New York to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to receive mentoring from IMG Fashion USA and meet with an international buyer to present their collection.

This scholarship is open to all Australian designers and labels that are producing seasonal collections and have been exporting their label for less than four years. Entrants will be judged by an industry leading panel of fashion and logistics experts, including Emily Weight Director of Strategy & Brand, IMG Fashion, and Sunday Telegraph's Fashion Editor Prue Lewington. DHL Exported will also provide the winner with a venue to cover the production costs for designers to debut their collections for two consecutive seasons in their corresponding city.

DHL“DHL is really proud of how the scholarship has grown over the last six years, and how it has helped young Australian designers achieve international success,” says Senior Vice President of DHL Express Oceania, Gary Edstein.

“Last year we saw the biggest number of entrants in the Scholarship’s history, and we expect to see it grow again this year. By offering the chance for the winner to attend the DHL Exported show at New York Fashion Week we are able to take advantage of our global network of partners such as IMG Fashion to provide our winner with a priceless experience, while preparing them to become a contender in the future.”

DHL2To be considered for the scholarship, designers must complete an application form, submit look-books from previous collections or a design porfolio, as well as a resume highlighting their industry relevant experience. Previous winners of the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship include last year's winner Michael Lo Sordo, as well as KAHLO, Haryono Setiadi, We Are Handsome and Bec & Bridge.

Applications for the scholarship are open until 30 April. Apply now.
