Though Kristy Lee Peters’ turn under the KLP moniker is just one year old, the Sydney DJ, producer and vocalist has already established an impressive list of achievements including upcoming collaborations with Skrillex and What So Not, not to mention her recent collaborations with Young Franco and Slumberjack.
About to join forces with Gold Fields for national tour later this month, KLP shares her favourite music-video fashion moments.
1. No Doubt - 'Just A Girl'
Every since I first saw Gwen with her bleached hair, bindi in between her eyes, crop top and baggy jeans I was sold. I think I then spent the large part of my teenage years pretending I was her.{youtube}PHzOOQfhPFg{/youtube}
2. Janet Jackson - 'Rhythm Nation'
I don’t really remember this when it came out, but I do remember re-discovering it a few years ago and being so into her baseball cap, military jacket and hoop earring look. Strong.{youtube}OAwaNWGLM0c{/youtube}
3. Madonna - 'Nothing Really Matters'
Not only is this one of my favourite songs ever (lyrically and musically) but the video is mesmerising. Madonna swings around and throws herself up against walls in a bright-red kimono with straight, black hair and eyebrows. Only she can pull off such a look and crazy dance scene. Respect as always to you Mads!{youtube}cAVx9RKaLPU{/youtube}
4. FKA Twigs - 'Pendulum'
To be honest, this song doesn’t grab me – but her presence does. The way she moves and wraps herself up in ties and ropes and pieces of material is stunning. The hair up in knots, bushy eyebrows and big lips is beautiful as well. I think Rihanna actually copied her look in a recent video, which goes to show just how effective the overall look was.{youtube}O8yix8PZKlw{/youtube}
5. Blondie - 'Heart Of Glass'
Bleached wispy hair, red lips and glazed eyes do it for me. Let alone the dresses she slinks around in.{youtube}WGU_4-5RaxU{/youtube}
