Melbourne-born iconoclast Leigh Bowery will be celebrated in a show-stopping, late-night queer party at Melbourne’s NGV International in March 2024.

Bowery Ball honours the famed 20th century performance artist, fashion designer and nightclub impresario and celebrates the vibrant creativity and buoyant self-expression of Victoria's LGBTQIA+ community.

Performers on the night include the likes of drag diva Art Simone, award-winning burlesque 'supervillain' Ruby Slippers, jazz pianist Rosie Rai, and Dazza and Keif.

The Bowery Ball coincides with NGV Triennial – a large-scale exhibition of contemporary art, design and architecture from around the world. As for the event's dress code, come inspired by Leigh's iconic personal style, and boundary-pushing repertoire of ensembles. In the words of Bowery: “Dress as though your life depends on it or don’t bother”.
