Airlie Beach Festival Of Music is only six weeks away, with a line-up so stacked it should come with a baggage limit.
The festival is set to ring in the start of the warmer months, with a bunch of music icons who have filled stadiums and soundtracked generations set to take over Whitsunday Sailing Club and beyond with the sweet sounds of their boundless talents.
Think you know festivals, though? Think again! The Airlie Beach Festival Of Music is more than just set lists; and schedules; and crowds of music lovers. . . It's a big adventure too – taking place at one of the most spectacular locations on the planet.
So are you ready to run to paradise? You'll only need to run to the main stage of the festival, sitting right on the Coral Sea foreshore. You'll soak up the vibes and the tunes from acts like Pete Murray, The Screaming Jets, Jessica Mauboy, Tex Perkins and Diesel. . . As well as world-class talents Choirboys, The Black Sorrows, Bachelor Girl and Jayne Denham.
"It takes guts to keep pushing forward in this climate, but they're doubling down to create a community, a vibe and a space where we can all just be in the moment," The Screaming Jets frontman Dave Gleeson says.
"I'm stoked to be part of it this November and can't wait to experience it all." It's fitting, then, that Gleeson has been named the official ambassador for the 2025 Airlie Beach Festival of Music (7–9 November). "It's very exciting whenever anyone gives you that type of mantle," he says.
"It's great because there's no corporatisation about the event, it involves the whole town. Whether it's bars and restaurants up and down the strip or the main stage in the concert ground, everyone's part of it."
The diversity of the line-up is also part of the appeal. This year's bill stretches from Aussie rock royalty to genre-hopping upstarts. "You've got everything from rock to blues to country blues. "Acts people have never seen before just add to the vibe. I can't wait – hopefully I get to meet Jessica Mauboy. I've got huge respect for her career."
