Wil Anderson's 'Fuck You' Tweet to Qantas

Wil Anderson
Founder and Publisher. Based in Brisbane.
Howard started Scene Magazine in 1993. Paul Keating was Prime Minister. Whitney, Janet and Mariah all had Aussie #1s and Mark Zuckerberg was 9. Over 30 years he's overseen the growth of scenestr magazine to become Australia's largest – and only national – street press while forging a digital-first imperative for the title in the mid-naughties. He's judged more battle of the bands than he cares to remember and proud of the myriad media partnerships the company has earned across the music, arts and comedy sectors. He likes Star Trek and a good Oxford Comma – way too much fun at parties.

Wil Anderson has been escorted from a Qantas plane and arrested in Wagga.

Various news sources have cited unruly behaviour on board the plane in an incident to which Anderson himself referred in a now-deleted Tweet, "A big fuck you to the crew at Qantas for their no help today. Sorry Wagga if I can't walk when I get off the plane today."

Anderson's planned show at Wagga went ahead after police released him and issued a statement, "Officers attended Wagga Wagga airport following reports of a disruptive passenger on board an incoming flight from Sydney."

In March, Anderson briefly referred to his debilitating osteoarthritis towards the end of his opening night show of the Brisbane leg of his current national 'Critically Wil' tour. Earlier this year he told Mamamia "Sometimes I'm going to get off a plane and I won't be able to walk for a while". It's not known whether the osteoarthritis is linked to the Qantas incident.

UPDATE:
Anderson subsequently spoke with WIN, playing down the incident, confirming he was stretching his back to relieve pain and it was this action which was apparently misinterpreted by Qantas cabin staff.
