Top 5 Things To Do In Brisbane With Sam Simmons

Sam Simmons
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.
1. Head straight to Ipswich and be grateful that I come from Adelaide.

2. Fat Ric’s. Bacon and eggs served to you by a gnarly hungover bass player. LOVE IT!

3. Go to that really expensive artisan market at the Brisbane Powerhouse on a Saturday, and as people are walking in say things out loud like: “ohhhh I can’t believe they ran out of kale!!” and then watch them panic.

4. Get drunk in a rotunda with Tom Gleeson. I do this in rotundas all over the world (sans Tom). This tradition was created maybe five years ago when Tom and I ended up getting obscenely drunk in a rotunda and befriending a homeless man. Tom time is good time.

5. Chicken katsu curry in the Myer Centre foodcourt in the city. Best chicken katsu I’ve ever had, and I haven’t even been to Japan.
