Russell Peters is celebrating 35 years as a stand-up comic, bringing his brand-new ‘Relax’ world tour to Australia in March, 2025.
Russell was recently named as one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics Of All Time. He began making audiences laugh at 19, as part of open mics in his native, Toronto. He spent the next 15 years honing his craft at clubs across Canada, as well as over in the UK.
In 2004, Peter gained critical and global recognition for his CTV ‘Comedy Now!’ special. . . And soon, became the first comedian to sell out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. He’d then proceed to set attendance records at venues like the O2 Arena, our own Sydney Opera House, and the iconic Madison Square Garden.
Russell became the first comedian to create a Netflix Original Comedy Special in 2013. His ‘Deported’ world tour was seen by more than 400,000 fans in 40 cities across 20 countries – it culminated in the ‘Russell Peters Deported’ special on Amazon Prime in January 2020.
For someone whose new comedy tour is called ‘Relax’, Russell is certainly racking up the miles, and maintaining a relentless schedule.
Audiences can expect raunchy, no-hold-barred humour, spontaneous riffs, cultural critiques, personal anecdotes and more, when he hits our shores for ‘Relax’.
