He has taken home the gong for The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award (formerly The Barry), and now Russell Kane is returning to Australia with the smash tour ‘The English Variant’.
The show has been hailed by The Guardian as the #1 comedy performance to come out of 2020, and about what happened to us all in 2020. Russell brings nuclear-energy belly laughs and pant-wetting observations, which prove that laughter is the best medicine. . . Aside from hospital medicine of course.
Now, he’ll bring this highly acclaimed show to our shores with dates in Melbourne, Brisbane, and a special show as part of Just For Laughs Sydney Comedy Festival.
It’s been an impressive 2023 for Russell already – he’s co-hosted live TV shows on Channel 4, had his BBC Radio 4 show ‘Evil Genius’ turned into TV by BBC Studios, and he recently helped present a prime-time, conversation-changing documentary about men’s bodies and sperm counts.
Russell was the first ever comedian to bag the two most prestigious comedy awards on earth in the same year, for the same show: Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Award, and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award.
Tickets are on sale now.
