The crown prince of comedy, Joel Creasey, returns.
Having performed at Adelaide Fringe since 2013, and in 2018 being selected as an Adelaide Fringe Ambassador, Joel returns to the Adelaide Fringe stage and beyond, with his new show 'BOOM!'.
“Boom! Australia, I’m back with my brand-new stand-up show all around the country,” Joel says. “It’s my most punchy and personal show to date and I just know you’ll have a great time.”
Joel will be doing what he does best in 'BOOM!' – sharing behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the ridiculous rollercoaster of his life. Friends, family, fame. . . Nobody is safe, unless of course, you've got a ticket to the show; Joel prefers to talk behind people's backs.
His reputation for slicing, dicing and smashing through celebrity, pop culture and himself, precedes him.
Joel's had sell-out tours of Australia, the UK, Asia and the USA. You can also find him on Netflix with ‘Thirsty’ under the series Comedians Of The World, and on Amazon Prime’s 'LOL: Last One Laughing', an outrageous social experiment conducted by Rebel Wilson.
Joel started stand-up at just 15 years old in little old Perth, moved to Melbourne, and has made his way to the world stage, becoming one of Australia’s most popular and successful comedians. He has presented a total of ten acclaimed sell-out tours. His show was naturally more PG-rated back in the day when he was starting out, so a word of warning about 'BOOM' from Joel himself: “Bring your friends, family. . . Just maybe not your kids!”
Joel took a job with Nova Entertainment in 2020 as a co-host alongside Kate Ritchie and Tim Blackwell for Australia’s number one drive show, and the following year won an ACRA award for Best Newcomer and the show winning awards for Best Syndicated Australian Program and Best Networked Program. That's quite a collection!
If you think you may have seen Joel around, he has appeared as a regular on Network 10’s 'The Project' in the ‘funnies chair’ as well as being a panelist on the five-season run of Dave Hughes’ comedy show, ‘Hughesy, We Have A Problem’ and has hosted the SBS broadcast of the Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.
He also appeared as a crazy stalker by the name of Mick Allsop, terrorising Ramsay Street on the hit Australian drama, 'Neighbours', and was a contestant on Network 10's 'I’m a Celebrity. . . Get Me Out of Here!'.
