The second ever Hobart Festival Of Comedy, brought by the team behind Dark Mofo, will hit Tasmania in March, 2025.
Hobart Festival Of Comedy will span five days and feature nine headliners. It’ll be spread across three venues.
In 2025, audiences can expect a diverse range of comedic performances, ranging from a show performed entirely in Spanish, to another exploring the butterfly effect. The roster of local and international talents will play at Odeon, In The Hanging Garden, and at Altar Bar.
Also returning after the first year is Club Chaos – a fabulous blend of cabaret, stand-up, physical theatre, DJs, drag performance and more. Plus, DJs in Cathedral will add to the atmosphere, with food and drinks available for the entire festival.
“After the runaway success of our first festival, it was a no-brainer to come back for 2025,” Curator Phoebe Meredith says. “We set the bar high for ourselves and it’s been great fun curating this year’s festival to include some amazing international and local comedians.”
The festival welcomes the likes of Ivan Aristeguieta, Danny Bhoy, He Huang, Nazeem Hussain, Sammy J, and Alex Ward, in 2025.
“As with 2024’s festival this is a unique opportunity to bring such incredible talent to Hobart who otherwise might not have been able to come, so catch them while they’re here!”
“The calibre of local comedians here in Nipaluna/Hobart is world class and it is amazing to work with two of the leading Comedy Room organisers and comedians who know the scene so well—David Bakker and Rob Braslin,” DarkLab Music Program Manager Sam Dowson says. “They successfully run their respective rooms The Clubhouse and CULT Comedy and I'm excited to see the line-ups that they've curated.”
Tickets are on sale 6 December.
Hobart Festival Of Comedy 2025 is on from 5-9 March.
