Award-winning performer, comedian, author and podcaster Em Rusciano is returning to the stage with a brand-new live show, ‘Em Rusciano: Addicted To Love’.
The national tour follows a debut season at the Darwin Comedy Festival, and a near sold-out run at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival this June. ‘Addicted To Love’ sees Em at her most fearless as she blends powerhouse vocals, biting comedy, and unflinching honesty.
It’s a show which cuts deeper than anything she has done before.
Em is perhaps best-known for her chart-topping podcast ‘Emsolation’, her critically acclaimed memoir ‘Blood, Sweat And Glitter’, and her widely-lauded address at the National Press Club. She’s built a reputation for saying the things that women are taught to swallow, and this show is no exception.
This is not a neat love story. . . It’s the one that comes after.
In ‘Addicted To Love’, Rusciano takes aim at a lifetime of conditioning, the pursuit of romantic love, approval, and external validation. Plus, she asks what happens when you finally see it for what it is, and choose yourself instead.
“This show is for anyone who has left a relationship, a job, or a version of themselves. . . And thought, what the f… do I do now?”
Hilarious and confronting, ‘Addicted To Love’ taps into a cultural moment where more women are re-evaluating long-held narratives about love, identity and success. . . And there are no answers in the show, but something even more powerful: recognition.
