It’s been nearly seven years, but renowned US comedian Des Bishop is finally returning down under.
The funnyman will hit our shores once again to showcase his comedic talents to Australian fans this November, kicking things off in Brisbane before heading to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
Des has a celebrated career spanning more than 20 years, including six hit stand-up specials including ‘Made In China’, ‘One Day You’ll Understand’, and his latest, ‘Of All People’. Des’ show is a must-see for fans of provocative comedy.
The native New Yorker moved from Queens to Ireland in his mid-teens, and came to Irish fan with TV shows ‘The Des Bishop Work Experience’, ‘Joy In The Hood’, and ‘In The Name Of The Fada’. In 2010, Des wrote his most personal show, ‘My Dad Was Nearly James Bond’. It was inspired by his father, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Des won an Irish Book Of The Year Award for his memoir of the same name.
He has appeared on many live stand-up shows including ‘Edinburgh Comedy Festival Live’, and our very own ’Spicks And Specks’. Plus, he’s embraced the podcast world, sharing hosting duties on ‘Berner Phone’ with his wife Hannah Berner, and helming a weekly comedy podcast with John Bishop, called ‘The Bishop Exchange’.
