British improv sensation (and Oxford-educated white boy) Chris Turner returns to Perth with two shows at Fringe World.
An award-winning comedian and founding member of UK improv favourites Racing Minds, Chris presents double-barrelled laughs with his shows 'Target Demographic' and 'Rap God'.
In 'Target Demographic', the west has failed and Capitalism is a virus, so why not have a laugh about it?
"'Target Demographic' is a brand-new show with funny stories and hard-hitting jokes with some freestyle raps thrown in," Chris explains.
Meanwhile 'Rap God' is Chris' most ambitious project yet, a one-man comedy and hip hop spectacular featuring jaw-dropping freestyles, hilarious stand-up and dexterous raps in an hour of roof-raising musical comedy.
"Audiences can expect mind-blowing freestyle raps, along with comedy songs they'll be humming on the way out,” Chris says, adding: “Vanilla Ice gets a roasting too. Lots of audience interaction and chances for them to try and stump me on topics and suggestions.”
'Target Demographic'
Chris is based in the USA where he writes for 'Epic Rap Battles Of History' and is a regular closing act at the world famous Comedy Cellar in New York, and the Comedy And Magic Club in Los Angeles.
Chris has lent his talents to promotional campaigns by Coca-Cola, Toyota, Telefonica, and, in especially English fashion, Yorkshire Tea.
Having sold out venues all over the world and shared line-ups with the likes of Dave Chappelle, Nikki Glaser and Michelle Wolf, Chris is understandably excited about getting back to Perth for Fringe World.
“I've missed Perth and looking forward to seeing and catching up with lots of local performer friends,” he says, “and one friend who lives next door to the main guy from Tame Impala!”
