Bron Lewis Experiments With The Future In Chat Bot Comedy

Can a chat bot be funny? Buddy Telco and Bron Lewis will put it to the test, with a free, one-night-only experiment show in Melbourne.

The one-off event at the Basement Comedy Club, will show off human and digital collaboration at its best – with Buddy Telco’s Buddy Bot writing the first half of the joke, and Bron delivering the punchline. The jokes may not land every time. . . But that’ll be half the fun!

“Buddy Telco’s ‘Chat Bot Comedy’ night is set to be collaborative chaos in the best way possible. I’ve performed in all kinds of strange setups, but I’ve never tried to keep an audience entertained by riffing off a Chat Bot,” Bron says. “It’s exciting, unhinged and completely uncharted territory, which is kind of perfect for improv stand-up.”

‘Chat Bot Comedy’ is a playful expression of Buddy Telco’s promise to be digital when you want it, and human when you need it.

The night will kick off with Ben Knight warming up the room with his trademark wit, for the bot-driven banter to come.

“Buddy Telco’s Chat Bot Comedy brings our brand to life in the most unexpected way,” Aussie Broadband General Manager Of Marketing Rebecca Rizzo says. “It’s a reminder that while tech can do a lot, the magic happens when it’s paired with a human touch. And that’s what Buddy is all about – we blend the convenience and efficiency of digital-first service with the reassurance of real human support.”

Tickets (free) are available now.

‘Chat Bot Comedy’ plays Basement Comedy Club (Melbourne) 6 August.
