In Australia for the Just For Laughs Festival at Sydney Opera House, Chicago comedian Hannibal Buress will play a one-off sideshow at Paddington's Sit Down Comedy Club on Monday 22 October.
Buress has featured on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, and recently won the Best Club Comic gong at the 2012 Comedy Awards. He appears on Comedy Central's John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show and co-hosts Adult Swim's The Eric Andre Show.
Buress was recently chosen by Rolling Stone as one of The 20 Funniest People, Videos and Things of the Coming Year. Variety named him as one of the 10 Comics To Watch in 2010 and Timeout named him 2007's Funniest Person in Chicago. His debut CD, My Name Is Hannibal, topped the iTunes comedy charts, and his latest — Hannibal Buress: Animal Furnace — is out now.
"If Steven Wright, Mos Def and Dave Chappelle had a baby, that would be disgusting, but it would sound like Hannibal Buress. The funniest young comic I've seen in years." — Chris Rock
