Lovers of LOLs are about to be administered a big dose of the good medicine – Brisbane Comedy Festival will return for its sweet 16th edition at venues across the city in April-May 2025.

A power squad of Australian and international comedians will be dealing out a month of belly laughs across Brisbane Powerhouse, The Tivoli, Fortitude Music Hall, and The Princess Theatre.

“Our 2025 festival is set to delight Brisbane comedy fans; this first announcement is just a taste of what’s to come,” Festival Director Phoebe Meredith says. “Following 2024 being so well attended, we’ve got a long list of amazing international, Australian and local artists and shows on the cards.”

“Brisbane loves a laugh, and I know you all won’t be disappointed! Ticket prices continue to be accessible, so I do encourage you to get along to as much as you can for an excellent night out.”

The 2024 event saw more than 82,000 tickets sold across 400 shows.

In 2025, Brisbane Comedy Festival’s Opening Gala makes a triumphant return, with audiences encouraged to dress to dazzle and take in an all-star line-up of international and Australian comedians, at Fortitude Music Hall. It always delivers the goods and showcases talent across the board.

Meanwhile, leading the first line-up of laughs are beloved comedy veterans like the Irish-Australian doyen of drole Jimeoin, NZ national treasure Rhys Darby (who makes his festival debut) and Geordie stand-up star Ross Noble.

Kiwi stars Melanie Bracewell and Ray O’Leary, seen on the likes of ‘Have You Been Paying Attention?’, ‘The Cheap Seats’ and ‘Thank God You’re Here’ will join in the fun, as will local comedy legend Nazeem Hussain, creator of ‘Legally Brown’ and ‘Orange Is The New Brown’.

That’s not all – you can also expect to see Becky Lucas, Bron Lewis, Chris Parker, Guy Montgomery, Guy Williams, Lawrence Mooney, Luke Heggie, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Sh*t-Faced Shakespeare and more.

Tickets are on sale now.

Brisbane Comedy Festival 2025 is on from 23 April-25 May.
