Festival favourites and fresh faces are hitting Brisbane stages for the 2024 Brisbane Comedy Festival.
The festival returns in April, bringing with it some of the world’s best and brightest comedians anywhere from Brisbane itself to across the world.
The first drop of acts is more than 20 comedy legends as well as fresh new faces. The programme will spread across three iconic Brisbane venues: Brisbane Powerhouse, The Tivoli, and The Princess Theatre. Brisbane Comedy Festival will take over the river city with more than 300 performances across April and May.
First up for the 2024 event is the return of Brisbane Comedy Festival’s Opening Gala, plus Australian fave (for the first time since 2013) Josh Thomas. You can also expect to see Nazeem Hussain, Joel Creasey, Rhys Nicholson, Reuben Kaye, Luke Heggie, Ivan Aristeguieta, and international artists Melanie Bracewell, Guy Montgomery, Schalk Bezuidenhout, and ‘Sh!t-Faced Shakespeare’.
But the fun doesn’t end there.
Tom Cashman joins the celebrations along with Cameron James, Ray O’Leary, Arj Barker, Reuben Kaye, Bron Lewis, Luke Heggie, Heath Franklin’s Chopper, Dave O’Neil, Guy Williams, Nina Oyama, Ivan Aristeguieta, and Andy Balloch.
To wrap up the first round of performances is ’44 Sex Acts In One Week’, an apocalyptic rom-com for these crazy times from playwright David Finnigan – plus ‘Wankernomics 2.0’, a show about navigating workplace hell. For some local LOLs, there’s also a comedy gala night featuring Aussie Comedy Legends Bob Franklin, Tony Martin, Bev Killick and Gretel Killeen.
Tickets are on sale for the first shows now.
Brisbane Comedy Festival 2024 takes place at Brisbane Powerhouse, The Tivoli, and The Princess Theatre from 26 April-26 May.
