Stand-up comedian, actor and writer Atsuko Okatsuka is bringing her brand-new show, ‘Full Grown’, to Australia this year.
Atsuko Okatsuka is based in LA, and was born in Taiwan. She spent her childhood in Japan. Her debut stand-up special is called ‘The Intruder’ – it premiered on HBO in 2022, named the Best Debut Special Of The Year by the New York Times, as well as being listed as one of the Best Specials Of 2022 by Vulture and Variety.
Variety also named her as one of their 10 Comics To Watch For 2022. . . And when Atsuko made her late-night stand-up debut on ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’, Vulture proclaimed she had ‘won late-night’.
Last year, Atsuko won the 2023 Gracie Award for Best Special, and she was also nominated for Best Comedian at the Wowie Awards. She’s currently developing a half-hour comedy series, based on her life, with FX.
Atsuko was raised by her grandmother and together they created the #DropChallenge – something which has amassed more than 10 million views.
