The Funny Greek returns.
Angelo Tsarouchas touches down on Aussie soil with 'Skits & Wits', a fresh show of observations blended with his erratic home life and travel. Angelo has appeared on screens in 'Mad Men', 'Sullivan And Son' and 'Blue Mountain State'.
Under the hot lights of the stage, Angelo has headlined worldwide and has also been touring with Vince Vaughan's 'Wild West Comedy Show'.
Angelo says he's seeing things differently these days, thanks to the endless hilarity of human beings and day-to-day occurrences.
Here, we learn some more from him before he presents his show to Perth and Sydney audiences.
What will you be bringing for us this year?
I will be bringing my post-COVID, optimistic view of the world.
Describe your style of comedy.
Basically what you see is what you get. My style is somewhat opinionated and observational, sprinkled with a little bit of self-deprecating. I'm viewing the world differently these days, just when I think there is nothing to talk about and be funny, the more human interactions I deal with allows the comedy to write itself for me. And if that doesn't work, I just call family members.
How did you get into it?
It always seemed to be a passion since high school. I was always infatuated with comedy and comedians. I still am a big fan of comedy. I started it in high school on a dare and never looked back. I'm still enjoying it.
What’s one thing you’d want newcomers to know about you?
I want them to come and hear my life stories and experiences having grown up in Canada and now living in the US. I have a strong feeling that we are parallel, in the sense of Canada being the frozen tundra of the north and Australia being a continent in the south pacific. Both isolated and we keep visiting the US.
You’re currently living in Los Angeles. What’s the best thing about being stationed there?
The best thing about Los Angeles is the Mexican food.
…And the worst?
The worst thing about Los Angeles is the Mexican food.
Anything you’d like to say to your Aussie fans before you hit our shores?
Can't wait to see you guys! Always a great time and I always look forward to entertaining the Aussies. I love it there!
