Andrew Hamilton 2024 Australia Tour

Andrew Hamilton
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

In 2021, Andrew Hamilton spent four months in two of Sydney’s maximum-security prisons, for the supply of psychedelic drugs.

He had a great time.

While he was incarcerated, Andrew began to notice the transportive power of laughter. If a joke can make you forget you’re in prison, what else could it do?! With this in mind upon his release, Andrew took up stand-up comedy. Initially, his start in the industry was under strict bail conditions. His parents had to come with him to shows, and he had to be home in time for curfew.

Since beginning in the comedy world, Andrew has been nominated for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer in 2023 and has sold out shows at major festivals around the country with ‘Jokes About The Time I Went To Prison. . .’ and his follow-up hour ’Sh.t Bloke’.

Since 2023, Andrew has also featured as a member of the viral YouTube channel YeahMadTV, gaining an international following.

Andrew is set to release his autobiography ‘Profound Benefits Of A Stint In Prison’ in late July. Copies will be available to purchase along his tour.

“It’ll be loose. It’ll be fun. Hopefully catch you at a show!” Andrew says. “Degenerates welcome.”

Tickets are on sale now.
