Amy Hetherington 2022 Australia Tour

Amy Hetherington
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Rising Australian comedy star Amy Hetherington is back, with bub in tow, to perform shows across Darwin, Perth and Adelaide.

'Crying Over Spilt Milk' sees Amy sharing the wit and madness of her dive into motherhood. It's a show fuelled by sleep deprivation, weird advice from strangers, sore nipples and tears (however irrational) over spilt milk.

Amy's new role as a mother means she's now able to connect with her audiences about the struggle, challenges and survival of motherhood.

'Crying Over Spilt Milk' kicks off in Darwin before heading to Perth Fringe World and Adelaide Fringe. With this show, Amy is truly pushing the boundaries and abilities a single human can take on – but she's always the 'terminally positive' optimist.

“This show is going to be chaotic. Baby Ruby will be a very active part of it because if she needs a feed mid-joke, I’m going to chuck her on the boob and carry on,” Amy says. “I think a lot of motherhood isn’t talked about and a lot of new mums struggle to connect in the chaos. Weirdly there’s still a lot of shame and unseen challenges around breastfeeding and I think it’s time we put it unapologetically on the stage.”

“I find my best comedy comes from sharing real life experiences. Comedians are at their most relevant and funny when they relate to their audience, so this will be a no-holds-back show about surviving life with a newborn. I guess this show is perfect for new parents, would-be parents, or never-would-I-ever parents.”

“Expect stories about sleep deprivation, weird advice from strangers, sore nipples, and crying over spilled milk,” Amy describes. “And yes, expect the new arrival to be a chaotically fun part of the show.”

Tickets are on sale now.
