Adrian has amassed quite the following across social media – with two million followers on Instagram, almost eight million on Tik Tok, and almost six million on YouTube.
There's a sense of joy and whimsy in Adrian's content – with a foundation of education and intelligence in much of it. . . Making for constantly enjoyable, stimulating viewing material. This content now finds its way under the hot lights of the stage as Adrian explores 'Inside Everyone'.
We learn more from the skit master himself, before he gives your seven octillion atoms an experience they’ll never forget.
What can audiences expect at ‘Inside Everyone’?
A fun, somewhat manic, costume-filled ride through history. I came up with the show when I read that it is almost certain that an atom that now makes up you, was a part of a dinosaur, Julius Caesar, Shakespeare and just about any historical figure you could care to mention, which blew my mind. 'Inside Everyone' is all about one of those little atoms traveling through time and getting involved with some of history’s biggest names.
You’ve been on YouTube since 2013, and you’ve got millions of followers across your social media accounts. What’s it like to have this many people checking out your content?
I love coming up with the ideas and making the sketches, so I am delighted that so many people enjoy watching them.
You have some pretty brilliant costumes in your skits. Where do you get them from?!
I get most of my costumes from a website called Halloweencostumes.com, but the speciality ones, like the ear and the worm, are made by a British costume designer called Jennifer Dingwall. She is amazing! And a couple of the more simple ones I put together myself.
What’s your favourite skit you’ve done to this date, and why?
My personal favourites are always the historical ones. I really like my Trojan horse sketch, and a sketch I made called ‘Chiming in at Aristotle’s dinner party’.
What are you most looking forward to about heading to Australia with this show?
It has been a little while since I have done the show and I have made some changes, so I can’t wait to try them out with an Australian audience. I am also very excited just to be coming to Australia as I have never been!
Got any other plans outside of your shows while you’re here? Anything you’re particularly keen to do?
I am looking forward to exploring Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and some of the Gold Coast. I am hoping to stay for a week or two after the shows so I can have a holiday! I haven’t made any specific plans but I am hopeful some friendly locals who come to the show will give me recommendations.
How would you describe your comedy style in three words?
Warm, wry and whimsical.
What’s next for you?!
I’ve spent the last year writing my first book, 'The Greatest Nobodies Of History', which is publishing in August. It’s all about side characters, the minor figures at the fringes of history’s biggest moments who have been overshadowed by their much more famous contemporaries. It has been such a different experience to making my videos and my stage show, but I’ve really loved getting into the heads of so many weird and wonderful characters from the last 3,000 years. I’m excited for people to read it – hopefully the weeks I’ve spent researching Leonardo da Vinci’s ferret have been worth it!
