Ah, 'Love Actually'.

The rom-com favourite is packed with memorable moments, beloved British actors…and a whole bunch of turtlenecks.

Act/React's Amy Currie took some time out from passionately defending the film in two-woman comedy showdown 'Love/Hate Actually' to decide on the definitive ranking of the movie’s most glorious early 2000s jumpers.

Five: Creepy Mark

Andrew Lincoln’s character Mark is secretly in love with an extremely annoying Keira Knightley, who happens to be his best friend's wife. When she finds out his terrible secret, he panics and runs away. It is all very embarrassing, but at least he does it in a fetching multi-coloured zip-up turtleneck.

Four: Sex Harlot Mia

Admin assistant Mia (Heike Makatsch) sets out to seduce her boss (played by Alan Rickman) and thoroughly break the heart of his loving wife (Emma Thompson). Mia achieves this by flashing her knickers (or lack thereof) in a tight black turtleneck. She is a sex harlot and a nasty piece of work.

Three: Widower Daniel

Daniel (Liam Neeson) processes his grief over his wife’s recent death in a selection of cosy turtlenecks. They are so effective that by the end of the movie he ends up finding new love with a Claudia Schiffer lookalike (played by, um, Claudia Schiffer). She also wears a turtleneck.

Two: Unrequited Lover Sarah

Sarah (Laura Linney) has a mentally ill brother who calls her a lot, and for some reason this means she can never be in a relationship with her crush. She wears a brown turtleneck because she is sad, but accessorises with jaunty brooches because at least she’s got the comfort of familial love.

One: Wet Jamie

Colin Firth plays Jamie, a crime writer who falls in love with Portuguese cleaner Aurelia (Lúcia Moniz). This is not important. The important thing is that he wears a black turtleneck and somehow he makes it super sexy and also he jumps in a lake and it’s pretty great and I would definitely hit that.

'Love/Hate Actually' plays The Third Space at Live From Tandanya from 16-24 February.
