Described by The British Theatre Guide as 'brilliantly witty', The Axis of Awesome have spent the past decade touring across the globe.
They’ve performed officially sold-out seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe for six years, while they recently won Best Online Channel at the Online Video Awards.
Now Sydney’s musical-comedy superstars are heading north this weekend for Laugh Your Pants Off. But before that occurs, the lads thought they would expand your citrus knowledge. Seriously.
5. Mandarin
The mandarin is a sharing fruit. It's beautifully segmented and each segment has its own thin membrane, so there's an appropriate level of demarcation between segments. You could feed a family of eight with just one mandarin, without arguments!
4. Blood Orange
Why have a regular orange when you can eat one of Satan's oranges? Each blood orange requires the sacrifice of 13 virgin rats. So if you don't mind rat flesh in your guts and are happy to risk bursting into flames and enduring agonising torture, you should get on board with the original, forbidden fruit.
3. Lime
There's a reason these bad boys are $14 a pop. You cannot beat the crisp taste, the freshness or the rampant erection you get from tasting a lime. You don't want to stop at one but you should; excess lime consumption is a danger to your reproductive system.
2. Olive
Ok sure, technically, an olive is not a citrus fruit but neither are you man, so what do you know about it? You're not the law! Shut up and try an olive. Challenge yourself for once in your pathetic life.
1. Lemon
You probably think that lemons shouldn't be on this list because of their sour taste. You definitely don't think they should be number one, but did you know that without lemons we wouldn't have mobile phones or the internet. In fact, most communication technology owes its origin to the humble lemon.
The Axis Of Awesome will perform their ridiculously popular hits as headliners at Laugh Your Pants Off alongside Celia Pacquola, Russell Gilbert, Troy Kinne and others at Jupiters Hotel & Casino 10 July.
