‘Wicked’ is returning to Sydney.
The production will open in Sydney in August 2023 at the Sydney Lyric.
‘Wicked’ is an original musical and winner of more than 100 awards including a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award, six Helpmann Awards, six Drama Desk Awards and three Tony Awards. It is as popular today as it was 20 years ago when it premiered.
The musical has played in 16 countries around the world.
By the time of its first performance in Sydney, ‘Wicked’ will have become the fourth longest running show in Broadway history (surpassing 'Cats'). ‘Wicked’ is based on the bestseller novel 'Wicked' by Gregory Maguire, published in 1995 with more than 5.5 million copies sold since its initial publication.
