Melbourne will showcase all it has to offer with the next White Night Melbourne – an annual 12-hour event stretching across the city.
The popular event will take place on February 22 and will have displays and events at a number of Melbourne's hot spots, ranging from the National Gallery of Victoria, to the State Library of Victoria, Melbourne City Baths and the Melbourne Museum.
From 7pm to 7am, the city will showcase more than 80 free events with activities and acts including concerts, a northern lights music show, film screenings, syncronised swimming shows, tattoo and sculpture exhibitions, fashion shows, 3D displays and street light displays around various parts of the city.
The city will join an international network of 23 major cities from New York to Florence, Tel-Aviv to Toronto in hosting similar all-night events. Many of Melbourne's world-renowned cultural institutions including the Melbourne Arts Centre, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne Museum, National Gallery of Victoria and the State Library of Victoria will open their doors all night, boasting special programming and exhibitions.
Late night transport will also be available to anyone wishing to take advantage of this special yearly event and discover the excitement and wonder of Melbourne.
