Benalla Art Gallery in regional Victoria has been forced to cancel the Wall To Wall Festival planned for April.
The event is the latest of many to be impacted by government health advice restricting mass gatherings as COVID-19 unfolds.
The exhibition was to feature 'Sofles: Compendium', an amalgamation of nearly two decades of the street artist's work. Organisers hope to reschedule a new date in the future.
Wall To Wall statement: 'Due to recent guidance from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) in light of the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) which advises against non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people, Wall To Wall organisers regret to share that the festival will not go ahead from 3-5 April.
'This decision was made after careful consideration, with the health and safety of everyone involved remaining top priority.
'The Wall To Wall team are hugely disappointed with plans to announce the programme this week.
'The festival hopes to schedule a new date in the future.'
