Bountiful bosoms will be bouncing into the New Globe Theatre when Bertie Page presents Bouncing Bunnies Burlesque on Sunday April 20.
One of the starlets of the show, Lunaire d’Etoile, shares her love of Easter treats.
Easter is one of my favorite holidays for two simple reasons: egg hunts and ….CANDY. I can’t help it! (And quite frankly, who would want to?) It’s one of the few times of the year where one can gorge on delicious treats and not feel bad…. mostly. So to celebrate the upcoming onslaught of chocolate lust, here is my Top 5 list of Easter candy awesomeness!
1. Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Bunny. This is brand new to my life as of a few weeks ago. Ferrero Rocher?? Chocolate bunny!?? What… I just… who… *single tear*. There is nothing about this that could POSSIBLY be wrong; there’s just too much right going on! After my first bite, I’d swear I heard angels singing. And that is why I’ve claimed it as the champion of Easter Candy. In my own little world, of course.
2. Marshmallow Peeps. As a newly relocated American, this ‘shmallowy delight is one thing I never realised I was going to miss! Flavoured marshmallow covered in a light shimmering of coloured sugar, and shaped like chicks and bunnies, it is exactly what you think biting into a gumdrop cloud would taste like. I always seem to eat an entire box before I even know I opened it in the first place.
3. Cadbury Crème Eggs. Need I say more? I thought not.
4. Jelly beans. This truly has more to do with my favourite Easter childhood memories than the actual candy. Every year before we would go to Sunday mass, my parents would hide trios of jelly beans all over the house, and we would have our own indoor family Easter ‘egg’ hunt. Childhood fun at its best.
5. Easter egg bubble gum. I don’t know how this always tastes better on this bunny holiday. Maybe it’s the sugar encrusted outer shell, but who can know for sure?
