The crème de la crème of Melbourne's live music photography scene have taken to Ding Dong Lounge to display some of their best work.
For the next week, Scott Boelsen, Jesse Booher, Rebecca Houlden, Lou Lou Nutt, Naomi Rahim, John Raptis, Brett Schewitz, Richard Sharman, Anthony Smith, Heidi Takla, Elleni Toumpas and Scenestr contributor Katie Dutton will adorn the walls of the venue with their shots of Metallica, Black Sabbath, Madonna, Garbage, Marilyn Manson, Grinderman and more.
The twelve photographers regularly contribute to local and international music publications and have taken countless live music photographs between them. From the smallest pubs to Australia's biggest festivals, every level of live music is represented in the exhibition.
While reviewers have it easy at live gigs, photographers are battling through tough conditions and technical challenges, often receiving less love from publicists and event organisers for their troubles. This exhibition, then, is a chance to celebrate their work.
Three Songs No Flash presents the exhibition at Ding Dong Lounge from 6pm each night until May 30.
