If you missed 'Art With Altitude' last year, don’t panic! It’s back, and it’s better than ever!
After the hugely successful inaugural exhibition on Mount Glorious last year, 'Art With Altitude' is set to become a regular feature of the arts calendar for South-East Queensland, and the date is set for Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November; the exhibition is open from 9am until 4pm daily.
Held at the Mount Glorious Community Hall on Mount Glorious (in North-West Brisbane), just a few minutes’ drive from Samford and Ferny Grove, this exhibition features many well-known artists from the creative communities of Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo. With 21 featured artists this year, a wide variety of media will be on display, including paintings in oil, watercolour and acrylics, along with sculpture, jewellery, ceramics, glass-work, graphite drawings, photography, fine woodwork and fibre-art. 'Art With Altitude' will showcase works by award-winning Australian artists, including Ann and Gerry O’Connor (ceramicists), Terry Turner (oil paintings) and Garry Rogers (graphite drawing and fine woodwork).

When you’ve seen the exhibition and markets, you can take a visit to the nearby rainforest, where you’ll see colourful parrots and bowerbirds, and the delightful little pademelons (wallabies). There are many walking tracks to explore in the D’Aguilar National Park on Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo, with the nearest being at Maiala, a short distance from the exhibition; Maiala also has a delightful picnic spot with BBQ facilities. There really is something for everyone to enjoy! Luxury retreats are also available on Mount Glorious for those wanting to stay a little longer.
Art will come first at Mount Glorious for 'Art With Altitude'.
