Some of the most acclaimed talents in animation, comics, illustration and music will descend on the Sydney Opera House for the fourth annual GRAPHIC Festival in October.
The four-day program includes workshops, talks and performances from Pulitzer Prize, Emmy and Eisner award winners — and the guys who created Robot Chicken.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the program will open with a live stage performance of Robot Chicken featuring co-creators Seth Green and Matt Senreich.
Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman (Maus) will make his debut at the festival with WORDLESS!, a hybrid of talk, slides and music. Spiegelman's wife, Francoise Mouly — best known for her work in Raw and as the art editor at The New Yorker — will also take part in a panel discussion.
For many fans, the most exciting talents on the bill will be writer Grant Morrison (The Invisibles, Animal Man, All-Star Superman, New X-Men), writer/musician Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance, The Umbrella Academy), and illustrator Dave McKean (The Sandman, Coraline, Arkham Asylum). Wolverine and Swamp Thing co-creator Len Wein will also appear.
After a sell-out performance in 2012, Radio With Pictures will return with contributions from the likes of Claudia Karvan, Cold Chisel's Don Walker and artist Gria Shead.
Finally, Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi will close the festival by collaborating with installation artist Claudio Sinatti.
GRAPHIC will run from October 4-7; for more info, head to sydneyoperahouse.com.
