SPARK Ipswich 2025 Programme

SPARK Ipswich
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and some beyond.

Get ready to light up your July – SPARK Ipswich is back, bringing the city to life as more than 50 vibrant events take over across 10 days of arts, culture, music, and family fun.

There'll be everything from large-scale light installations, cutting-edge art projections, lively street parties and music festivals. The 2025 programme will span the city, spotlighting the best local talent in music, visual arts, performance, and more.

In 2025, Ipswich Civic Centre marks 50 years. It's a place which has hosted generations of performances, events, and memories. . . And SPARK is inviting the whole community to be part of a special community production, 'Hipswich', starring hundreds of local community members for a one-night birthday party to be remembered. Plus, there'll be a Carpark Party at the Civic Centre across six action-packed nights of entertainment featuring captivating performances by local Tulmur and Meanjin artists.

There are plenty more showstoppers where that came from this year, too.

deLIGHT will ignite Nicholas Street with a dazzling fusion of art and light, as artists join forces with projection wizard James Muller to animate their creations – with every night unveiling a different artist.

HEXADECA from Pulsing Heart invites folks of all ages to engage in playful, tactile art. It's an interactive, music-making playground designed for immersive sound experiences as participants sit and spin to create soundscapes.

The Bubble Canteen will feature 20,000 bubbles per minute, from delicate ones, to giant, shimmering ones. It's an enchanting spectacle for the whole family.

In the realm of music, WOMI (World Of Music Ipswich) returns to Springfield – bringing music, workshops, food, and crafts from across the globe. It's a one-day event with a jam-packed line-up showcasing and celebrating the vibrancy of Ipswich and South East Queensland's culturally and linguistically diverse community. Craving more tunes? The Salty Sirens, two sapphic sailors, will lead you on a musical journey through traditional and modern nautical folk song. . . And Simon 'Groove Terminator' Lewicki and Discovery will present a Daft Punk Tribute Show.

For the little festivalgoers, Little Day Out has a focus on sustainability and is bursting with music, hands-on art experiences, food trucks, and roving entertainment. Look forward to live music in 'dirtgirl's Garden Party', creative workshops, and more.

Street Art Jam is returning for its second year, as it transforms urban spaces with vibrant, public art. You can immerse yourself in workshops and demonstrations.

Stand-up comedian Mel Buttle will play the Civic Centre, Banshees celebrates LGBTQIA+ voices during opening weekend, three big bands will thrill with the sound of trumpets, saxophones and more, and Pete Murray stops at the 'Swich as part of his 55-date solo acoustic tour.

So whether you're gallery-hopping, catching a show, or exploring late-night festival vibes, SPARK Ipswich is your chance to experience Ipswich's creative energy. . . Like never before.
