Taiwanese contemporary circus company Eye Catching Circus presents a breathtaking fusion of contemporary circus and raw storytelling in '#Since1994' this Fringe.
The show, created by Chih-Ling Mei, features an all-female cast of extraordinary acrobats and original music from female composers. It's a critically-acclaimed production challenging societal expectations of the female body through dazzling physical artistry.
The 2026 Fringe World season follows acclaimed performances across Europe.
“'#Since1994' is more than a circus show,” Chih-Ling Mei says. “It's a powerful journey of self-acceptance and empowerment, brought to life through breathtaking movement and artistic expression.”
'#Since1994' is the winner of the Adelaide Fringe Weekly Circus Award two years in a row (2024-2025). It has been performed since October 2020. Through it, Eye Catching Circus plans to establish a platform for female circus performers, focusing on creation and cultivation.

Suspended from a symbolic frame, the performers navigate a world of competition and camaraderie, striving to reclaim ownership of their bodies and redefine their place, in a society burdened with expectations.
This isn't just circus – it's rebellion in motion. These phenomenally skilled performers will defy gravity in a raw, competitive and fiercely supportive display of talents sure to leave audiences breathless.
Eye Catching Circus was founded in 2015, and is dedicated to creating a new generation of circus performers, fostering the idea of contemporary circus art. Blending professional stunts and theatrical talent, their aim is to retain tradition, innovate for the future, and bring together talents from various performing arts fields.
'#Since1994' plays The Gold Digger at The Pleasure Garden (Fringe World) 21 January-1 February.
