Sideshow Femmes Are Fanning The Fringe World Flames In Perth

'Sideshow Femmes'
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with fire?

This world premiere will be sure to heat up the Fringe, featuring feisty femmes rebelling against good sense and common decency.

Sideshow femmes aren't just female performers. They're any individual who presents in a feminine way. The one's you'll witness at Fringe World are banding together to bring audiences a unique experience steeped in tantalising tease and daring deeds. They live in a world where knives are toys and flames are a fashion statement!

“I wanted to provide a platform to showcase the weird, the wonderful and the femme,” creator Scarlet Tinkabelle explains.

“I like giving artists the chance to express their art in their truest form. This enables us all to perform and share our creativity at its absolute best too!”

The Miss Burlesque Brisbane 2019 winner brings a unique fusion of classical dance training and fireplay to the art of burlesque.

“Often, we as sideshow artists are found trying to ‘fit in’ or be more mainstream in order to suit show line-ups, or we get cast as the token ‘freak’ or interesting ‘one-off’ act to gain an extra slice of the audience pie,” Scarlet reveals.

“I wanted a show for us! To be seen and heard how we want to be seen and heard. Raw, fresh, and our true freakishly fabulous selves.”

'Sideshow Femmes' plays Corner Bar at The Windsor Hotel 13 February and Air Nightclub 14-15 February.
