Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

This Adelaide Fringe, Seasonal Sessions returns – taking over Woodville Town Hall with some of Australia's most celebrated names in music and cabaret.

It's two huge nights of entertainment that are sure to bring joy to all those in attendance.

“Seasonal Sessions is a performance series that focuses on cabaret, music and comedy and occurs once a weekend every season at Woodville Town Hall,” Co-Curator/Seasonal Sessions Producer Zac Tyler says.

The series kicked off last autumn, and the year of programming is being rounded off this summer as part of Adelaide Fringe. The series is curated by prominent SA arts figures, husband and wife team Amelia Ryan and Zac Tyler, and is a co-production with Woodville Town Hall.

The event's history has seen some huge talents take to the stage. To date, the series has hosted world-class performers and storytellers such as Mick Harvey & J.P Shilo, Clementine Ford, Tripod, Michael Griffiths, Amelia Ryan and Libby O’Donovan, Michaela Burger, Gospo Collective and more.

“Audiences can expect cabaret, music and storytelling at its best, set in a stunning art deco town hall with the intimacy of a cosy cabaret room,” Zac says.

This year, the guest list of performers is made up of Louise Blackwell, Clare Bowditch, Amelia Ryan, Michaela Burger, Michael Griffiths, Lucky Seven, and Cailene Kilcoyne.

“Adelaide Fringe brings out audiences en masse, and creates a fun festive vibe throughout the whole state,” Zac continues. “It’s infectious to be involved in the Fringe and it’s very cool that people can see incredible artists on their doorstep no matter what suburb they live in in Adelaide.”

Audiences can expect a show bringing the story of French singer Juliette Gréco to life, a night of 'Random Creative Adventure', a celebration of the teenage songwriters who shaped rock 'n' roll, and a feast of the swing sounds of the 1940s.

“The series was partially funded by Live Music Australia, and it’s been really wonderful providing Adelaide audiences with the opportunity to experience world-class shows outside the festival season.

“We’ve loved introducing such an incredible array of artists from all over Australia to the Woodville Town Hall (which really is a hidden gem of Adelaide), and creating a space that works in all the seasons!”

Seasonal Sessions is on at Woodville Town Hall (Adelaide Fringe) 25-26 February.
