Indie arts organisation RAW promises to deliver an overwhelming range of local art in a single evening at Adelaide’s April showcase, Signature.
They deliver in abundance, with fashion, music, visual art, photography, performing art, hair and makeup – all rolled into four hours of buzzing, non-stop entertainment.
It’s a wonderful and inspiring thing to be surrounded by so much sparkling creativity. Models clad in Dark Thorn Clothing’s Victorian-inspired black velvet and lace offerings weave between those showcasing Casey Von Einem’s flowing, angelic couture (complete with feathery wings).
Innovative visual art displays are packed in wall-to-wall, featuring everything from Jade Conlon’s stunning mandala-printed ukuleles and ink drawings to Creative Pear-spective’s delicate, nursery-esque watercolours and rustic dreamcatchers. Colours burst from the walls in every direction.
Local duo Bret & Bronte grace the audience with their original blend of dark indie blues. Their hauntingly beautiful set is followed by synth-driven pop rock outfit Reuben Gore, who raise the energy in the lead-up to performances by contemporary hip hop dance crews ClockworkCrew and Tektonix. A dazzling showcase of Adelaide’s young artistic talent indeed.
RAW Adelaide’s next showcase is on 3 June at Producer’s Bar.
