Red Line Productions 2021 Old Fitz Theatre Programme

'Exit The King'
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

One year and one day after the Old Fitzroy Theatre in New South Wales went dark, Red Line Productions is returning with a bang, and a year of exciting theatre productions.

The first of 2021 explodes the space with electricity and life, in a new interpretation of Eugene Ionesco's 'Exit The King', directed by Megan Wilding and starring Jonny Hawkins, Shakira Clanton, Dalara Williams, Toby Blome, Emma O'Sullivan and Rob Johnson.

Among many other season highlights, Samuel Beckett's firebrand text 'Happy Days' will be brought to life by Belinda Giblin under the direction of Craig Baldwin, and Sarah Kane's 'Cleansed' is given radical new life directed by Dino Dimitriadis.

Also featuring is the Broadway hit 'Hand To God', directed by Alexander Berlage and exploring the fragile nature of faith, morality and the ties that bind us.

Throughout 2020, Red Line presented livestreamed theatre readings and performances featuring Alec Baldwin, Rose Byrne, Ewen Leslie and John Butler among others.

"To be at the point we are now with commercial projects in full swing and the Fitz having Cat, Con and Alex taking the Artistic Director reigns I have never been more certain of Red Line establishing itself as a sustainable Australian business," Red Line Creative Director Andrew Henry says.

Twelve productions will hit the stage throughout 2021 and into 2022 at the Old Fitz.

The season begins with 'Exit The King' from 18 March.
