Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) continue to impress with their newest instalment in their cinematic experiences, as they perform the ever-spectacular soundtrack alongside 'Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi'.

The iconic soundtrack penned by John Williams for the 1983 release of episode six of the epic space-opera media franchise, was brought to life by the extraordinarily talented QSO for one day and two performances only on 15 February.

John Williams is known for his music behind 'Schindler’s List', 'Indiana Jones', 'Jaws', and 'Home Alone', proving his expertise in a variety of genres through a variety of eras, however his score for the Star Wars franchise is evidently his best work. For this reason, it is no surprise that he has been nominated for 52 Academy Awards (making him the most nominated ever, behind Walt Disney), and has received 25 Grammy Awards, 7 British Academy Film Awards, 5 Academy Awards, and 4 Golden Globe Awards.

Following the massive success of the 'A New Hope' and 'The Empire Strikes Back' Live Concert Experiences, it was no surprise that QSO would come back to present 'Return Of The Jedi', with the most unforgettable experience yet. With a strong percussion section performing renditions of the tribal sounds coming from the camps of the ewok, to the spectacular main melody that we all know and love booming from the chorus of trombones, the QSO certainly out-did themselves once again.

Of course, a Live Concert Experience wouldn’t be complete without the appearance of a variety of our favourite characters, including Princess Leia, The Emperor, C-3PO, and Darth Vader who wandered through the crowds prior to the performance. And the performance was made as, at the conclusion of the show, conductor Nicholas Buc proceeded to pull out his own lightsaber, and was met with the crowd responding with their own – a true spectacle to behold as the dark room was lit up blue, red and green.

We will never watch a movie without QSO performing the soundtrack ever again, period.
