Chamber Music Adelaide (CMA) has today announced a programme of events throughout the second half of 2016, featuring seven of the region's leading chamber music organisations, an array of world premieres and a slew of guest collaborations.
The main highlight of the announcement is the first ever 'On The Terrace' event. Not costing a cent, the day will invite visitors and music-lovers to take a walk from the Art Gallery of South Australia, the South Australian Museum and the State Library, on 16 October.
Chamber musicians in duos and trios will perform intimate collections of recitals all day, reflecting the moods and settings around them and drawing inspiration from the North Terrace cultural boulevard.
Chamber Music Adelaide Chair Cheryl Pickering says she is delighted about such an accessible event for chamber music: “To hear them in the stunning settings of the Museum, Gallery and Library adds that extra bit of magic to the day.”
The programme also announced two world premieres. On 16 September at the Anne and Gordon Samstag Museum, Soundstream will present 'Sympathy For The Devil', and on 27 November, Various People Inc will present 'My Heart In Hiding' at the Ngeringa Cultural Centre.
