‘Piaf! The Show’ is the biggest French musical success in the world since 2015, and it’s coming to Australia in 2024.
‘Piaf! The Show’, conceived and directed by Gil Marsalla, has completed more than 600 performances in more than 50 countries, and sold a million tickets. The production, hitting Australia in May 2024, stars Nathalie Lermitte and will play to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Brisbane audiences.
The show is unanimously considered by Edith Piaf’s close friends (including Ginou Richer, Germaine Ricord, and Charles Dumont) as the most beautiful tribute ever produced, on Edith’s career.
‘Piaf!’ tells the story of Edith Piaf’s career through her unforgettable songs including ‘La Vie En Rose’, in an original scenography and projections of images of Edith Piaf never published before. ‘Piaf! Le Spectacle’ has sold out at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Olympia in Paris, and major venues across Europe and the Americas.
The production in Australia stars Nathalie Lermitte. At the age of six, Nathalie started performing, and she released her first album the day she turned 18. In 1995, she opened for Michel Leeb at the Olympia with Herbert Leonard.
It was 1989 that marked Nathalie’s first steps in musical comedy, playing the role of Cristal in ‘Starmania’. This was followed by a succession of roles in musicals, in which she often played the role of Edith Piaf. She joined ‘Piaf! The Show’ in 2018.
Tickets are on sale 1 December.
