Perth Fringe World 2019 Programme

Fringe World
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

More than 700 shows have been packed into the 2019 programme for Fringe World Festival in Perth, offering four weeks of outstanding entertainment across the city.

Fringe World is Perth's most popular annual festival and is the third biggest Fringe event in the world, a time when the city comes alive with the biggest selection of events staged across 138 venues and performance spaces all over Perth.

Fringe World Festival Director, Amber Hasler says the 2019 edition promises to deliver a smorgasbord of the hilarious and the heart-stopping, the surprising and wonderful.

“Last year’s Fringe was our biggest yet – we had close to a million attendances and we were so overjoyed at how much people loved going on a Fringe binge!” Amber says.

“This year’s programme is heavy on a host of Fringe favourites that are returning after sell-out seasons, plus new shows that will delight Fringe fans.”

The full Fringe World experience encompasses the full spectrum of arts and performance, from comedy, music and cabaret to theatre, circus and street buskers, with the majority of events originating in Western Australia.

It is also one of the largest and most supportive performance platforms in the state, with last year's event alone delivering more than $8.6 million in gross box office returns to the artists.

Outside of the hubs, there are hundreds of quality Fringe shows taking place in new and fabulous venues all over the City and Northbridge, including a big programme by Ace’s Cabaret at Downstairs at the Maj, The Blue Room’s handpicked theatre and performance programme Summer Nights, comedy stars at the State Theatre Centre and the return of 'Blanc de Blanc' for a season at the Pear Tree on William St.

Fringe World 2019 also has free and family-friendly weekend events throughout the Festival, such as Fringe Fridays at the Twilight Hawkers Market. Bring family and friends to Perth’s newest amphitheatre for the free Fringe Sundays at Yagan Square, which offers chill vibes, tasters and teasers of some of the best shows Fringe has to offer.
