On The Trail Of Small Bars And Big Art

T2-Building
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

In the streets of Sydney now emerges a City Art tour, developed with Time Out Sydney, featuring a self-guided trail that links small bars with various artworks.

Pairings include Youngsters, Caroline Rothwell's haunting bronze sculptures on Barrack Street, and Stitch, an underground bar near Wynyard decorated with sewing machines specialising in hot dogs, tacos and burgers.

Featuring "intriguing and often beautiful artworks and installations," Lord Mayor Clover Moore mentions. "This self guided tour is a great way for Sydneysiders and visitors to explore the city on foot, taking in some of our top artworks, with ideas for a spot to drink and eat at the same time."

Some highlights of the City Art tour include Always was, always will be, Reko Rennie’s full façade artwork that covers the T2 building at Taylor Square South with giant geometric diamond shapes painted in neon pink, black and blue, and Low 302, a cocktail bar on Crown Street featuring live music and DJs most nights.
