Art trails, sculptural illuminations and projections will transform Melbourne as brand-new festival, Now Or Never, debuts.

It’s a 17-day affair, designed to attract more visitors to Melbourne during a time in the year which is normally quiet. It’s set to invigorate the city and boost the local economy. More than 300 local and internationally-renowned artists, composers, change-makers and innovators will come together in a programme featuring 18 Australian premieres and 20 festival-exclusive commissions.

Events will fill days and nights – more than 70 groundbreaking music, art, and talks experiences exploring possibilities found when art and technology converge.

Highlights include a larger-than-life Art Trail curated by Experimenta, a giant pop-up dome coined the Neversphere immersing audiences in a programme of film, a one-of-a-kind dining experience, a world premiere by Laszlo Bordos bringing the Shrine Of Remembrance into motion, NONSTOP WKND bringing two days of music, audio-visuals and performance, an event a IMAX celebrating National Science Week, the return of large-scale live music to Royal Exhibition Building, and a one-of-a-kind series of talks and panels, Never Permanent, celebrating and exploring the intersection of creativity and technology in the modern world.
