NOOSA alive! 2024 Programme

NOOSA alive!
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Coastal Queensland arts and cultural festival NOOSA alive! returns this July, celebrating its 22nd anniversary with a vibrant programme of events and performances.

The festival takes place across ten days, welcoming national superstars and Australian entertainment royalty. Plus, local talent will be showcased in stunning seaside venues throughout Noosa.

“NOOSA alive! is part of Australia’s festival trail and this year, Queensland’s cultural calendar is bursting with opportunity and choice,” Festival President Andrew Stafford says.

“We are delighted to present national acts and showcase our up-and-coming talent in our 22nd festival programme, with a highlight featuring the finalists in our annual talent search Noosa STARS alive!

“We are proud to keep ticket prices affordable without compromising the quality of the programme, by making our performances accessible and appealing to all ages, along with our community masterclasses and workshops being offered as free opportunities for participants.”

Queensland Ballet are set to open the festival with two breathtaking works – first up, the world premiere of ‘Papillon’, choreographed by Jack Lister. . . And ‘Holberg Suite’ by Greg Horsman.

Two-day mini-music festival Seaside Vibes makes its return to Noosa Main Beach, starring former Noosa resident turned Nashville country music star Wesley Dean, and synth artist/producer Luke Millions. Both artists will be backed by a line-up of support acts.

Forgotten junk gets a second life when Junkyard Beats teaches the importance of sustainability in ‘The Box Show’.

The NOOSA alive! literary programme continues to grow, with panels and a programme of literary events throughout the festival.

Master magician and world record-holder Tim Ellis has created a performance especially for NOOSA alive!, and Harry Milas’ ‘Close Encounters’ shares secrets of sleight-of-hand magic and illusions. Plus, there’s an improvised ‘whodunit’ mystery theatre experience in ‘Murder Village’.

Foodies will get their fill of delights thanks to a selection of premium food experiences served throughout the festival as well.
