NOOSA Alive! Festival is planning a huge celebration for its 21st birthday in 2023 – featuring a guest list of Australian icons, international artists, and local legends.
Queensland Ballet will launch things with its world premiere of ‘Tartan & Tchaikovsky Mash’ at The J Theatre. Plus, Meg Washington and Paul Grabowsky are partnering for an unforgettable evening of music.
The internationally renowned Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) will perform an exclusive, one-night-only show made up of a generous programme of works from Mozart and Bach to contemporary pieces by Randy Newman and US-German musician Kurt Weill.
“NOOSA Alive! is one of the most anticipated events on Queensland’s cultural calendar and we are delighted to present our 21st programme filled with big events, big names and big performances,” Festival President Andrew Stafford says.
“I’m particularly proud that Queensland Ballet has chosen NOOSA Alive! to debut its brand-new work, ‘Tartan’, and that we will also host the first Queensland performance of Meg Washington and Paul Grabowsky’s new work, plus the ACO’s exclusive performance really adds to what will be a fantastic 21st celebration.

“While the festival has grown so much over the past 21 years, one thing remains a constant – events sell out incredibly quickly, so I urge everyone to get tickets before it’s too late!”
Also part of the 21st year is ‘TENORI Under The STARS!’, an evening of gourmet food, fine wine and exceptional music. Tenors David Kidd, Craig Atkinson and Andrew Pryor will perform a repertoire blending opera, musical theatre and jazz, accompanied by guest soprano Laura Coutts and harpist Hayley Erin.
Then, from high notes to high wires, ‘Cirque Bon-Bon ENCORE!’ returns to dazzle audiences by fusing contortion, aerial artistry, dancing and death-defying acrobatics.
Enduring stage and screen star Rhonda Burchmore will revisit moments from her illustrious career and perform some show-stopping numbers in ‘Rhonda Burchmore: Up Close & Personal’.
‘The Perfect Dinner’ at Pomona’s Majestic Theatre sees guests starting with the film ‘The Perfect Dinner’, followed by a three-course Italian feast. Also in the realm of food, ‘Seafood Seduction’ is a three-course lunch at Ricky’s River Bar & Restaurant, where diners are serenaded by local singer Lizzie O’Keefe, guitarist Aaron Bool and cellist Louise King.
NOOSA Alive! 2023 is on from 21-30 July.
