Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Night Owl Shows, spearheaded by talented producer and performer Dan Clews, takes the tribute genre to another level.

Specialising in dynamic and enlightening productions, the team dives deep into the lives and music of some of the 20th century’s most iconic singer-songwriters. It's more than just rehashes of great hits – it’s a heartfelt exploration of the artists' stories, infused with respect, passion, and a genuine admiration for their work.

What sets Night Owl Shows apart is their fresh approach to celebrating musical legends. Their performances aren’t just concerts – they’re immersive experiences that honour the spirit and artistry of artistic trailblazers. As true fans, their love for the music shines in every note and narrative, delivering a tribute that feels authentic and deeply personal.

As part of 2025's Fringe World, Night Owl shows will present three productions – celebrating the works of Carole King and James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, and acts from the '60s and '70s.

'The Carole King & James Taylor Story' is Night Owl Shows' longest-running production. Here, audiences can expect a nostalgic journey through the music of two legends.

Then, there's the brand-new 'Simon & Garfunkel And Beyond', exploring the story of one of the most loved musical duos of the 20th century. . . Where Fringe World crowds will be treated to impassioned takes on the likes of 'Sounds Of Silence', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', and 'You Can Call Me Al'.

Finally, 'California Dreams: The Sounds Of L.A. 1965-75' presents hits from The Mamas And The Papas, The Byrds, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Eagles. It'll be an immersive trip through California – traversing the landscape of the music world of the time.

“Night Owl Shows approaches its productions with a view to create emotion and nostalgia while imparting a musical history of each artist or genre we aim to portray,” Night Owl Shows Founder/Director Dan Clews says.

“Expect to be taken on an emotive and immersive journey through time, expect to sing, maybe a few tears and expect to leave with a feeling of warmth and friendship.”

Those looking for an engaging, soulful journey through the lives of music’s greats needn't look further than Night Owl Shows. It’s not just about hearing beloved songs; it’s about connecting with the heart and soul of the legends who created them.

“The moments I love in these performances are when we create a choir out of the audience, when everyone in the room is a part of the show.”

“In researching various shows for Night Owl, I have read over my height in music autobiographies.”

Night Owl Shows' three 2025 productions play Lotterywest De Parel Spiegeltent at The Pleasure Garden (Fringe World). 'The Carole King & James Taylor Story' plays 5-16 February. 'California Dreams: The Sounds Of L.A. 1965-75' plays 6-14 February. 'Simon & Garfunkel And Beyond' plays 7-16 February.
