After thrilling audiences in Sydney (read our chat with star Roman Banks), the Olivier and four-time Tony Award-winning blockbuster ‘MJ The Musical’ will hit Melbourne from September 2025.
The Australian premiere season of ‘MJ’ is the fifth production of the global hit musical, since it premiered on Broadway in 2022. The critically acclaimed production has enjoyed runs in London, Germany, and across the US.

‘MJ’ is set in 1992, offering audiences a behind-the-scenes peek into Michael Jackson’s iconic ‘Dangerous’ World Tour. It’s brought to life through the lens of an MTV journalist who is granted rare, rehearsal room access to the shows. It explores intimate moments from the complex history of Jackson’s life, as he attempts to align the ‘Dangerous’ World Tour to his creative genius.
