Forget 'Married At First Sight', here comes Matt Byrne’s 'Married At First Fight' for the 2019 Adelaide Fringe.
Adelaide producer/director Matt Byrne can’t believe 'Married At First Sight' is the nation’s number one rated TV show.
“So 'Married At First Fight' is my response!” Matt says.
“How anyone could watch a car crash like this amazes me but it obviously captures people’s attention.
“A decent length courtship still leads to a 50 per cent divorce rate, so you can imagine how long instant marriage lasts!”
Matt Byrne’s 'Married At First Fight' will take marriage right up the aisle.
Come and see Val Salmon (Rose Vallen) looking to hook hubby number eight, Kylie Cleavage (Amber Platten) wanting a man who loves her for her mind, Barry Bigtime (Brad Butvila) seeking fiance number sixteen, and Ron Turn (Byrne) looking for a new wife after losing his first wife of 38 years – she went out for milk one day and never came back.
“It’s a look at marriage in general and the many aspects that drive people crazy.
“We also play the parents, the bridesmaids, various celebrants, well-oiled Irish Priests and anyone else you’d meet in an instant marriage.
“There’s song and dance and a bit of romance as we spring a surprise wedding on the crowd as well!”
The show will celebrate 22 years of Matt Byrne Media comedies at Maxim’s Wine Bar.
“We’ve had everything from 'Bogans', 'Chalkies', 'P.I.G.S.', Virgins', 'Pricks', 'WAGS', 'The Luv Boat', 'Hott Property' and many more.
“They are fun, interactive nights out for Fringe crowds and we’ve built a great following over the years.”
