The Parade was a huge success, and the LGBTQIA+ community (and beyond) showed up in huge numbers to celebrate pride across the festival, but the Mardi Gras fun isn’t over yet.
Originally planned to take place within the festival (which ran from 18 February-6 March), three events will finally hit Sydney this April, giving Sydneysiders the opportunity to keep the celebrations going.
First up is the Kaftana Pool Party. Held at ivy Pool, it’s set to be a retro daydream of extravagant fabulousness. DJs including Queen Shirene, Kate Monroe, KILIMI and Division 4 will hit the decks, and attendees will also be treated to special performances from drag legend Joyce Maynge, burlesque wonder Mama Medusa and drag artist Peach Fuzz.
Sissy Ball
Next in line is ‘Sissy Ball’, where you can join the fierce icons and the rising stars of the Australian ballroom scene and soak in the essence of queer culture, art and expression. It’s making its debut at Sydney Town Hall and is curated by the House Of Slé godmother Kilia Pahulu. Some of Australia and New Zealand’s biggest names in ballroom, Ella Ganza (House of Alexander), Jamaica Moana, Kiki Dévine Oricci (House of Dévine), Jack Silky (House of Silky) and New Zealand’s legendary mother of House of IMAN Jaycee IMAN will be judging the dips, flips and hair whips.

Paradiso Pool Party
Last but not least is the Paradiso Pool Party, transforming ivy Pool into the epitome of Mediterranean sun-kissed glam. Pull up to a poolside cabana as cocktails flow and performers turn day into night – in a line-up featuring Amanda Louise, Jarred Baker, James Alexander, DJ ENN, Dom de Sousa, Jonny Marsh, L.O.U, and DJ Hamo.
Tickets for all events are on sale now.
Kaftana Pool Party takes place at ivy Pool on 2 April, ‘Sissy Ball’ is on at Sydney Town Hall on 3 April, and Paradiso Pool Party hits ivy Pool on 24 April.
