Love Me; By indelabilityarts Is Unpacking Stigma In Brisbane

'Love Me;'
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

In any one year, one in five Australians between the ages of 16-85 experience mental illness.

'Love Me;' is a work of theatre for schools and communities which is aiming to not only unpack the stigma surrounding mental illness but also encourage conversation about how to promote mental wellbeing.

The work is devised and presented by indelabilityarts artists, some having lived experiences of mental illness and prejudice. 'Love Me;' explores these themes through a series of vignettes incorporating metaphor, humour and stories.

Co-Artistic Director of indeliabilityarts says it's been received well so far.

“The show spoke to not only school audiences but also people of all ages in a positive way. Many people also wished they had something like this at school previously. At the end of the show many people felt moved and emotional, as it had opened a door for conversation over mental health and wellbeing for them."

'Love Me;' plays Redland Performing Arts Centre 30 August.
